Irish Independent filmmaker Graham Jones has released the trailer for his upcoming animated feature film, “Silicon Docks.” The film takes place in the dying days of the Trump presidency, and features a “doomed pub crawl conducted by a bunch of American tech moguls.”
Graham Jones, who has done feature films before (one which The Movie Buff reviewed in 2016, “Nola and the Clones,” was an intriguing character portrait), is now delving into both animation and satire. Jones’ new film will focus on American tech “rockstars” such as Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Evan Spiegel, and Jeff Bezos.
Tech Moguls in Dublin Lay the Groundwork for Jones’ Satire
Jones remarks the area of Silicon Docks in Ireland, just minutes from where he grew up, underwent a seismic shift. The resulting change in climate led him to reflect on the scores of U.S. tech companies operating in the area and the everyday tech workers and subsequent tech users. “Silicon Docks” follows the above-mentioned tech moguls as they stumble around Dublin. They are in desperate need of a pint, experiencing a Covid-19 locked down city, dealing with their personal and business issues alike.
Said Jones about the plot of his upcoming feature: “Ask yourself: what happens if we take a sample group, let’s say 10 early pioneers of the web, and subject them to the same kind of distortions that everyone else endures online in the 21st Century? How will these doctors of the internet react to a taste of their own medicine!”
Like many of his other projects, “Silicon Docks” is written and directed by Jones. The animation is done by the talented Kasia WiÅ›niewska, and the voice acting done by a slew of talented cast. The film will tackle technology, Ireland’s Silicon Docks, tech moguls, society, and more.

According to Jones, the film will release on YouTube on October 1st, freely available for anyone to watch non-monetized.
