Press Release—Steve Blackwood and Blackwood Productions announce “Sweeps Week,” a new short film starring Steve Blackwood, Brian J. McDonald, and Haley Curley.

“Sweeps Week” comes on the heels of “Peabrain,” Blackwood’s previous short about an ailing father and a frustrated son, based on the actor’s real-life father. Featuring commentary on aging and empathy, Blackwood also found some heartfelt reminiscences of his own soap opera start in his character (Blackwood starred in “Days of Our Lives,” amongst other film and TV roles).

Plot: A clueless TV Producer makes a life altering executive decision for one of his loyal actors in this comedy based on Blackwood’s days on a network soap.

“Sweeps Week” features cinematography by Jeffery Buchbinder, production design by Karen Blackwood, and editing by Christopher Bowden. It is written, produced, and directed by Steve Blackwood. The film is currently post production and will be submitted to film festivals in the near future.
