Trailers: ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Looks to Bridge Modern Era with Classic ‘Star Wars’

One film in 1977 has birthed an entire legacy. I grew up with the original three films in the “Star Wars” saga and thoroughly enjoyed the prequels. The modern era of movies were hit or miss. I loved “Rogue One.” I accepted “Solo” and “The Force Awakens.” I despised “The Last Jedi” and refused to watch “The Rise of Skywalker.” Baby Yoda, Anthony Fett…”Star Wars” is now everywhere. And now there’s a new addition to the mix.

What is it?

Obi-Wan Kenobi” is a new six episode series from Disney+ and the trailer looks promising for all fans of the series. Ewan McGregor will be reprising his titular character from the prequels. Set ten years after the events of “Episode III,” McGregor is now the perfect age for the part. This is great since it means no makeup or aging software will be needed.

In the two-minute trailer, there was alot that I liked. I heard the classic score, and saw some cool new locations including a city-like planet that reminded me of Coruscant. Obi-Wan is watching over a young Luke Skywalker, whilst cool looking new villains are busy hunting down the Jedi. So it all makes sense from a story standpoint.

It looks cool enough that I may have to subscribe to Disney+
