9 Delicious Snacks to Serve at Your Next Movie Night

You could break out the popcorn for your next movie night, but why settle for typical when you can have something extraordinary! You can combine menus with movies to create a unifying theme for your evening.

It won’t matter if you’re curling up with only your partner or inviting a crowd. With the right snacks, your night will be a smashing success. Check out the following list for a few cool ideas.

1. ‘Star Wars’—”Baby Yoda” Everything

If you’ve checked social media lately, you’ll see memes of “Baby Yoda” everywhere. There’s a good reason—this tiny race of intergalactic humanoids is downright adorable. If you like deviled eggs, you can whip up a batch with peppercorn eyes and celery ears.

Of course, you can’t forget the alcohol. Draw inspiration from one of these “Baby Yoda”-inspired drink recipes popping up at the hippest bars. You don’t have to be an expert mixologist to serve a beverage that makes your guests say, “Aww.”

2. Ocean Movies—Seafood Delights

Are you going with a “Jaws” or a “Deep Blue Sea” vibe for your horror movie binge night? Perhaps you’re having a kid-friendly party and doing a “Finding Nemo” theme?

Either way, you can set the mood with some delicious corn and lobster fritters or blue cheese-stuffed shrimp. You won’t even need a ton of cocktail or tartar sauce to set off these appetizers.

3. ‘Lord of the Rings’/’The Hobbit’—Vegan “Elf” Snacks

“Baby Yoda” makes a mean movie-night cocktail.

Okay, granted—in “The Hobbit,” Ori the dwarf proclaims, “I don’t like green food.” However, more and more people are beginning to adopt vegan lifestyles to minimize their carbon footprint.

Celebrate their environmental sensitivity in an elven way. Make a batch of vegan lembas bread as a snack. One bite might not fill you for three days, but even Smeagol would say it’s scrumptious.

4. ‘The Godfather’—Mobster Meat Snacks

Do you have your Tommy gun handy? You won’t need automatic weapons to hunt down some delightful party snacks.

You can whip up “mobster” meatball sliders with lettuce instead of buns and other snacks sure to delight the keto-friendly crowd. Movie night doesn’t need to include carb-laden kettle corn.

5. Rom-Coms—Homemade Fondue

You could go out to dinner and a movie, but have you seen the prices at popular fondue restaurants? Instead, recreate the magic at home.

It doesn’t matter what you decide to dip—choosing top-quality cheese is the secret to successful pot cooking.

6. Sports Flicks—Tailgate Party Favorites

Fried green tomatoes at the movies – why not?

What goes better with a sports flick than a tailgate party? You don’t need a stadium to reinvent the game-day feel at home. Plus, there are few things better on a winter’s evening than snuggling up with a bowl of chili mac and watching “Jerry Maguire.”

7. Southern Films — Authentic Fried Chicken and Green Tomatoes

Perhaps you’re in the mood for a bit of Southern comfort. If that’s the case, why not wrestle up some fried chicken?

As a side to your movie night meal, serve fried green tomatoes good enough for the Whistle Stop Café. You can decide if you want to include any special barbecue with the meal. (Is Earl still in the trunk?)

8. Superheroes—Keto “Caveman” Snacks

Low-carb, high-fat diets are a positive thing. Millions of Americans have diabetes or prediabetes, after all. These diets offer promise for many people with insulin resistance.

Try some bacon and bell pepper roll-ups. You’ll get filling protein and fat along with phytonutrients. Talk about fuel for superpowers.

9. Silly Comedies—Gourmet Pizza

There’s nothing wrong with kicking back and watching silly comedies. What goes best with a lighthearted movie night? Pizza, of course. However, you’re all grown up now, and you don’t have to get the door for delivery.

You can make a cauliflower pizza crust to cut the carbs and make it vegan as well, and you can top it however you like. Do you prefer vegan cashew cheese and lots of veggies, or do you want to balance the tomato sauce and crust with beefy pepperoni and real mozzarella?

Make Your Movie Night a Success With Themed Snacks

It’s fun—and a snap—to pair your movie night with delicious food. Give the popcorn maker a rest for the evening and enjoy your culinary creations.
