Filmmaker and creator S.J. Creazzo has announced the release of his new film, “Shattered Soul,” which is set to premiere at First Glance Film Festival LA on November 14th. This is Creazzo’s fifth feature film (this website reviewed two of his previous, “Skipping Stones” and “You’re Not There.”
“Shattered Soul” deals with a young mother deals with her fractured mind, while trying to recall the details of the day her daughter was tragically killed in car crash—that the mother directly caused. Or was the crash the work of sinister forces? (via IMDb). The film was written, directed, produced, and edited by Creazzo. Said the filmmaker about the film, “I am thrilled and incredibly grateful to unveil this exciting psychological/horror/mystery to the world after years of hard work.”
Psychological Horror
Creazzo has a way of having a keen eye for independent projects, with “Skipping Stones” and “You’re Not There” honing in on real characters we grow to care for alongside small towns that feel real and lived in. Both of those films also deal with people grieving in different ways, so we expect “Shattered Soul” to follow suit in exploring complex and real characters. That the film is poised as a drama/horror makes it more intriguing. What will Creazzo be up to this time?
“Shattered Soul” features a small cast, featuring some of Creazzo’s usual players. Here we see: Diana Cherkas, Alison Stover, Gabrielle Kalomiris, and Tina Siciliano. Kalomiris has appeared in both “Skipping Stones” and “You’re Not There.” The film contains musical composition by Rich Cirillo and cinematography by Rich Cook and Jules Crespo.
Premiering at First Glance Film Festival LA
The premiere of “Shattered Soul” at First Glance Film Festival will also coincide with the American Film Market (AFM), which takes place from November 11th – 16th. Of note, “Shattered Soul” has also been nominated for awards for “Best Picture,” “Best Director,” “Best Actress,” and “Best Breakout Performance.”
