Indie filmmaker Ashley Nicole has announced that she will release a new short film, “Roxy! The Beginning,” on August 16th.

The film is the third installment of two other of Nicole’s short films, “Roxy!” and “Roxy! The Farewell.” The short film shows more of what happened in the first “Roxy!” film, while “Roxy! The Farewell” deals with the character’s death. The film series is about a rising singer and was heavily inspired by Debbie Harry. The films take place during the early 1980s.

“Roxy! The Beginning” stars Brianne Buishas, who provides the voiceover for Roxy, as well as Director Ashley Nicole.
