Season 7 marks another turning point for Seinfeld. It’s the unrivaled top show on TV. It’s been on long enough that the characters start becoming zanier versions of themselves. There are many classic episodes – one of which “The Soup Nazi” may be the most well-known of them all.
It’s also the final season for Larry David, and it’s felt with the quality in the two subsequent seasons. The two part episode “The Cadillac” marks a noticeable shift in the outlandishness of the show.
We go back to a season long arc – George’s engagement to Susan. While I dislike the way it ends, the Susan character adds a good dynamic to the season as a whole.
We meet the Maestro, Sue Ellen Mischke, and The Rabbi. We get more Jackie Chiles, and J Peterman becomes a great secondary character.
Season 7 also solidifies Jerry as one of my favorite characters. He’s greatly improved on his acting and has his own tendencies explored. His opening standup takes a back seat and I actually missed it.
And I loved his girlfriend of the week (Samantha Smith) in “The Friars Club”
