Calgary, AB (February 22, 2026) –Â On February 22nd, the winners were announced for the 4th Annual Golden Scythe Horror Awards via the ceremonyâs official website and social media profiles.
Drew Hancockâs science-fiction horror original âCompanionâ and Zach Creggerâs horror-thriller âWeaponsâ tied for the most wins, each earning a total of five awards. âCompanionâ star Sophie Thatcher won the award for âBest Actress in a Leading Roleâ for her performance as Iris in the film âCompanionâ also earned the awards for âBest Supporting Actorâ (Jack Quaid), âBest Original Scoreâ (Hrishikesh Hirway), âBest Editingâ (Brett W. Bachman & Josh Ethier), and âBest Title Sequence.â
The 4th Annual Awards
âWeaponsâ took home the awards for âBest Original Screenplayâ (Zach Cregger), âBest Cinematographyâ (Larkin Sieple), âBest Poster,â âBest Horror Movie Momentâ (Gladys in Control), and âBest Marketing Campaign.â Danny and Michael Philippouâs âBring Her Backâ took home the biggest award of the ceremony â âBest Picture,â along with âBest Supporting Actressâ (Sora Wong), âBest International Filmâ(Australia), âBest Use of Practical Effects,â and âBest Trailer.â
