10 Worst Video Game to Movie Adaptations

In recent times, the disparity between videogames and movies has become a lot less blurred. Whilst video games are not doing badly at imitating movies, the reverse doesn’t seem to be working out as some of us have discovered. History has taught many of us that not every movie based on a video game is objectively good. Some do not only embarrass the games that spawned them, but also fail at telling a worthwhile story. So, when next you plan to see a new game based movie, don’t get too excited. With this in mind, here are the ten worst video games.

Silent Hill
Based on the horror game series, this film didn’t go down well with many. Whilst it was visually impressive, it had a vapid dialogue and was unnecessarily too long. Generally, the movie failed horribly in telling the horror story of it was based on.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
Obviously, one of the best fight action games available, “Mortal Kombat: Annihilation” is just as good as ever. Unfortunately, the movie was a complete waste of time.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Obviously, the choice of cast wasn’t the best for a movie that was supposed to replicate the story of the popular video game. Watching Gyllenhaal try to undo evil and save the world with a dagger is ridiculous and embarrassing.

Assassin’s Creed
“Assassin Creed” is definitely one of those movies you won’t like to see a second time because of its horrible motion. Even with all the talent, this movie was a complete joke. It was just another failure in a genre that seems to get worse every year.

Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life
No, doubt the adventures are great, thanks to the impressive play by Angelina Jolie, our brave Croft. With more stunts and action, we may conside “Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life,” a much better as a sequel. But still, it failed to leave up to expectation. The whole thing was a hole.

Uwe Boll is back at it again but this time with the best of acting talents. The costumes, the motion, the accent; everything about this movie showed it was a complete waste of time and resources. Certainly incomparable to the video game that spawned it.

House of the Dead
The 2007 film is undoubtedly one of the most terrible video game movies we’ve ever seen. Although it embraces the root of the original video game, it failed terribly in execution. It appears this film is the worse of the gun arcade genre. Uwe Boll couldn’t have been serious.

Super Mario Bros.
This is one of the worst game based video game you will ever come across. It is nothing less than a big screen performance art.

Wing Commander
This movie was the biggest joke in the movie industry until “Scooby Doo” came upon the scene in 2004. Although it featured some of the legend actors around at the time, it was still a failure.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
The movie “Final Fantasy” was pretty impressive technically, but that is all there is to it. It was dull and everything less than the video game it spawned from.

There are definitely other terrible movies out there, but the ones highlighted above should always top any list.
